Whilst it is the winter in Australia, its summer in Japan and  the rice planting time

or what is known at the raining season.  And

often one sees the graceful white heron walking gently 

through the paddies looking for food.

‘Travelling Vicariously’ complete work

150 cm x 30 cm on Canson rag

I first do a pen and ink drawing . This is scanned to then manipulate on the computer. I then have it printed professionally as an archival giclee on Canson rag paper. I then continue to draw on the print with archival ink pens. A lengthy process!

The above print is a photograph I took from the slums of the Philippine. Then on top of the photographs I use Gel printing techniques to transfer the images from books and magazines at the op shop I found/bought or what is known as an opportunity shop where mostly people with little spare income purchase clothing or domestic wares of necessity in Australia.
